Travis began his career in the local 344 plumbers and pipefitters’ apprenticeship in 2003. In his third year Travis was allowed to travel as a pipefitter/welder throughout the United States where he excelled in Orbital Welding, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and chrome pipe. He joined United Mechanical in 2011 and has worked as a pipefitter/welder on various jobs. Travis served as the project foreman on the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Dallas, Texas and in Denver, Colorado. Travis began working in the pipefitting fabrication shop in 2013 as a fitter/welder and in 2015 was given the opportunity to join the BIM Department and learned to use Revit MEP. In 2016 he was promoted to fab shop foreman where his responsibilities include managing the production of prefabricated piping spools and equipment skids. Because of his computer experience he works closely with our BIM department as part of his duties.
